Most of us know we should read the morning and evening adhkār. Fewer of us actually do. This session works through ten reasons grounded in the Qur’an and authentic Hadith, from fulfilling a direct command of Allah (33:41–42) to the narration in al-Tabarani that the one who preserves these adhkār may be among those granted the sight of Allah in Paradise. The rewards are significant, and the protection is broader than many realise: the session maps out eighteen categories of harm these adhkār guard against, from anxiety and envy to the punishment of the grave, and explains when and how to read them correctly.

This session covers:

Ten Qur’anic and Hadith-based reasons for reading the morning and evening adhkār, including forgiveness of sins, protection from Hell-fire, and the intercession of our beloved Prophet ﷺ

The full scope of protection these adhkār offer, covering eighteen categories of harm from debt and laziness to magic, evil jinn, and unexpected difficulties

The correct times for the adhkār (Fajr to sunrise for morning; ʿAṣr to sunset for evening) and answers to common questions about what to do when they are missed

The condition that makes these adhkār count: reciting with yaqīn, reflection, and the presence of the heart, as Ibn al-Qayyim states

This Sirah lesson continues the story of Prophet Yunus عليه السلام after he leaves his people and boards a small boat. The sea starts calm. Then dark clouds gather, the wind roars, and huge waves crash over the deck.

The sailors decide someone must jump into the sea to save the rest. They pick names. Yunus عليه السلام comes up again, and again, and again. They refuse to throw him, they know he is a blessed man. But Yunus عليه السلام sees this as a sign from Allah, and he jumps. A whale swallows him. The dark night. The dark sea. The darkness of the whale’s belly. No way out.

In that total darkness, Yunus عليه السلام turns to Allah and prays: “There is no god but You; how Perfect are You! I was indeed wrong!” Allah, The Most Kind, accepts his duʿa. He orders the whale to spit him out onto the shore. When Yunus عليه السلام recovers, Allah sends him back to guide his people. They believe. Allah gives them peaceful, happy lives.

Session 7 takes learners deep into the verses of the Qur’an, reflecting on the āyāt of ḥajj in Sūrah al-Baqarah and Sūrah al-Ḥajj to uncover the greater goals and inner dimensions of this sacred journey. Through guided reflection, group discussion, and personal contemplation, learners will discover that the Qur’an places greater emphasis on the heart in the āyāt of ḥajj than in any other pillar of Islam, with taqwā and dhikr at the very centre of it all.

In Session 7, learners will:

Reflect on the āyāt of Sūrah al-Baqarah, exploring themes of taqwā, sincere intention, self-control, dhikr, and the balance between duʿa for this world and the Hereafter.

Engage deeply with Sūrah al-Ḥajj, uncovering Quranic insights on tawhid, sacrifice, gratitude, honouring the symbols of Allah, and the qualities of the humble believer.

Connect the outer rites of ḥajj to the inner state of the heart, understanding how every physical act of worship is designed to nurture taqwā, dhikr, and closeness to Allah.

Identify one lasting takeaway, carrying the Quranic message of dhikr and taqwā forward as the foundation of a transformed life beyond ḥajj.

There are no better days in the sight of Allah than the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Dhul Hijjah: The Best Days of the Year is the engaging lesson helping learners understand why these extraordinary days are so precious and how every Muslim, whether performing hajj or not, can seize them with intention, worship, and a heart full of love for Allah.

The lesson opens by establishing Dhul Hijjah as one of the four sacred months in Islam, a month of mercy and forgiveness that mirrors the blessing of Ramadan. Through the words of our beloved Prophet ﷺ, learners discover that good deeds performed during these ten days are more beloved to Allah than good deeds performed at any other time of the year, and that the very best deed during these days is dhikr: filling the tongue and heart with tahlil, takbir, and tahmid.

Day by day, learners are guided through a beautiful and practical breakdown of what to do throughout the ten days: fasting as many days as possible from the 1st to the 8th, the mighty fast of the Day of ʿArafah on the 9th which wipes away two years of sins, the joyful sunnahs and qurbani of Eid al-Adha on the 10th, and the continued dhikr and takbirat of tashriq through the Days of Tashriq until after ʿasr on the 13th. The full text and translation of the takbirat at-tashriq is presented clearly for learners to memorise and carry with them.

Hajj is not just a journey of the body, it is a journey of the soul. The Last Days: 11-13th Dhul Hijjah is the lesson guiding young learners through the final and deeply transformative days of the greatest pilgrimage on earth.

The lesson continues through the eyes of a pilgrim during the Days of Tashriq, the 11th to 13th of Dhul Hijjah, as he spends his remaining hours in Mina in dhikr, duʿa, and recitation of the Qur’an, stoning all three jamarat just as our beloved Prophet ﷺ did. With each pebble thrown, the connection to the Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام and his steadfast family becomes more vivid and more personal. Learners witness the beautiful unity of the Ummah through the pilgrim’s encounter with Muslims from across the world, all united by one faith and one Prophet ﷺ.

The lesson then arrives at one of the most moving moments in all of hajj: the farewell tawaf. Standing before the Kaʿbah for the last time, the pilgrim reflects on how hajj has utterly transformed him. He came as one person, he is leaving as another. A Muslim reborn. Learners are invited to sit with this profound spiritual reality and consider what it truly means to return from hajj with a heart renewed in love, obedience, and ʿubūdiyyah. A Hadith of our beloved Prophet ﷺ anchors the lesson beautifully, reminding learners that tawaf, saʿy, and the stoning of the jamarat were prescribed for one purpose alone: to establish the remembrance of Allah.

The Qur’an is so powerful that even those who disbelieved could not resist falling into sajdah upon hearing it. Sajdah at-Tilawah is the lesson introducing young learners to one of the noble gestures of devotion connected to the recitation of the Qur’an.

The lesson opens with a captivating story from the time of our beloved Prophet ﷺ, when he recited Surah an-Najm near the Kaʿbah and every person present, Muslim and disbeliever all fell into sajdah together. Through this remarkable moment in history, learners discover the extraordinary power of the Words of Allah and are introduced to the concept of sajdah at-tilawah: the special prostration performed upon reciting or hearing one of the eleven ayat of sujud found throughout the Qur’an.

Learners also explore a Hadith of our beloved Prophet ﷺ, which reveals that every time a person performs sajdah at-tilawah, Shaytan goes away crying, a deeply motivating reminder of just how powerful this simple act of worship truly is. The lesson then walks learners through the practical conditions and steps for performing sajdah at-tilawah correctly, including the beautiful dhikr to be recited in the prostration itself.

This transformative final session invites teenagers to discover the requirements of connecting to the Quran, applying sabr to real-life scenarios, and exploring how the Quran is the best reminder for those who fear Allah’s warning.

Session 4: A Journey Through Surah Qaf – The Final Clue: The Heart First

Begins by learning from the past, reflecting on nations who were tall, physically powerful, and built lofty strong buildings yet were destroyed despite their wealth and power, understanding that no amount of worldly strength can protect against Allah’s decree

Discovers the three conditions of benefitting from the Quran’s reminder: having a heart that is alive and healthy, directing one’s sense of hearing completely to the One who is speaking (alqa al-sam’), and having one’s heart and mind present (shahid) during the experience

Understands that reciting the Quran properly means engaging the tongue, mind, and heart together, where the tongue recites with precision, the mind reflects on the meaning, and the heart responds with sincerity and eagerness to act

Reflects on Allah’s absolute power in creating the heavens, earth, and everything between in six days without tiring, rejecting the false belief that God needed rest, and understanding that recreation is even easier than initial creation

Explores sabr as the remedy for trials, understanding that sabr is active steadfastness and self-control, not passive waiting, combined with the powerful weapon of dhikr and remembering Allah through salah at specified times

Learns the three types of sabr: sabr in obeying Allah (such as waking for Fajr when exhausted), sabr in staying away from sins (such as resisting peer pressure to gossip), and sabr in regards to trials Allah has decreed (such as failing an exam despite studying hard)

Applies sabr to real-life scenarios including responding when parents ask for help during holidays, dealing with racist remarks, handling sibling conflicts over belongings, and managing online negativity from friends

Reflects on the mighty blast that will be called from a nearby place so everyone hears it equally and simultaneously, understanding that people will come out from their graves on the Day when they hear it in reality

Discovers that the final return is to Allah, with repeated emphasis on ‘We’ showing that giving life and death is easy for Him, and the gathering will be easy when the earth splits apart on that Day

Understands the Quran as the best reminder, learning that our beloved Prophet ﷺ was sent only to convey the message not to force belief, that guidance comes from Allah alone whilst our role is to share the truth, and noticing the powerful connection between the beginning and ending of this surah

Engages in the Quran promotion activity, designing creative adverts in groups explaining why everyone (Muslims and non-Muslims) needs the Quran, being assessed on both design and content whilst remembering that less is more

Perfect for teenage learners in madrasahs, homeschools, and Islamic study circles, this presentation nurtures hearts through authentic Quranic tarbiyah rooted in the values of certainty, excellence, and responsibility.
