This transformative final session invites teenagers to discover the requirements of connecting to the Quran, applying sabr to real-life scenarios, and exploring how the Quran is the best reminder for those who fear Allah’s warning.

Session 4: A Journey Through Surah Qaf – The Final Clue: The Heart First

Begins by learning from the past, reflecting on nations who were tall, physically powerful, and built lofty strong buildings yet were destroyed despite their wealth and power, understanding that no amount of worldly strength can protect against Allah’s decree

Discovers the three conditions of benefitting from the Quran’s reminder: having a heart that is alive and healthy, directing one’s sense of hearing completely to the One who is speaking (alqa al-sam’), and having one’s heart and mind present (shahid) during the experience

Understands that reciting the Quran properly means engaging the tongue, mind, and heart together, where the tongue recites with precision, the mind reflects on the meaning, and the heart responds with sincerity and eagerness to act

Reflects on Allah’s absolute power in creating the heavens, earth, and everything between in six days without tiring, rejecting the false belief that God needed rest, and understanding that recreation is even easier than initial creation

Explores sabr as the remedy for trials, understanding that sabr is active steadfastness and self-control, not passive waiting, combined with the powerful weapon of dhikr and remembering Allah through salah at specified times

Learns the three types of sabr: sabr in obeying Allah (such as waking for Fajr when exhausted), sabr in staying away from sins (such as resisting peer pressure to gossip), and sabr in regards to trials Allah has decreed (such as failing an exam despite studying hard)

Applies sabr to real-life scenarios including responding when parents ask for help during holidays, dealing with racist remarks, handling sibling conflicts over belongings, and managing online negativity from friends

Reflects on the mighty blast that will be called from a nearby place so everyone hears it equally and simultaneously, understanding that people will come out from their graves on the Day when they hear it in reality

Discovers that the final return is to Allah, with repeated emphasis on ‘We’ showing that giving life and death is easy for Him, and the gathering will be easy when the earth splits apart on that Day

Understands the Quran as the best reminder, learning that our beloved Prophet ﷺ was sent only to convey the message not to force belief, that guidance comes from Allah alone whilst our role is to share the truth, and noticing the powerful connection between the beginning and ending of this surah

Engages in the Quran promotion activity, designing creative adverts in groups explaining why everyone (Muslims and non-Muslims) needs the Quran, being assessed on both design and content whilst remembering that less is more

Perfect for teenage learners in madrasahs, homeschools, and Islamic study circles, this presentation nurtures hearts through authentic Quranic tarbiyah rooted in the values of certainty, excellence, and responsibility.

Help young learners consolidate their understanding of Surah al-Masad and apply its timeless teachings to their daily lives with this comprehensive lesson. This engaging Key Lessons from Surah al-Masad lesson empowers learners to understand that actions have consequences whilst teaching them practical ways to implement Islamic guidance and choose between right and wrong in their everyday decisions.

This comprehensive review lesson reinforces the powerful message that being rich or powerful will not save anyone from Allah’s punishment and that having a good family does not guarantee success without following Allah’s guidance. Through interactive activities and critical thinking exercises, young learners will explore how Abu Lahab and Umm Jamil’s wealth, status, and family connections proved worthless when they opposed Islam and disrespected our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The lesson emphasises that only following Allah’s guidance leads to true success and entry into Jannah, regardless of worldly advantages or family background.

Young learners will master the fundamental Islamic principle that consequences match our actions through the Arabic concept “الجزاء من جنس العمل” (whatever you do, good or bad, has consequences that match what you did). Children will develop personal responsibility by understanding that they are accountable for their choices and that positive actions lead to rewards whilst negative actions result in punishment. Through practical examples and reflection exercises, learners will connect these teachings to real-life situations, learning to respond with patience and wisdom when facing challenges like Abu Lahab’s hostility towards the Prophet ﷺ.
