This Sirah lesson tells the story of how Ibrahim & Ismaʿil عليه السلام Build the Kaʿbah, it follows Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام and his son Ismaʿil عليه السلام as they climb steep hills, carry heavy stones from the mountains, and raise the walls of the Kaʿbah with their own hands, for the sake of Allah alone.

When the walls grew too high to reach, Ismaʿil عليه السلام found a large stone for his father to stand on. That stone is Maqam Ibrahim, and it still stands beside the Kaʿbah today. Father and son made duʿa as they worked: “Our Lord, accept this from us. Indeed You are The All-Hearing, The All-Knowing.” Near the end, Allah sent a white stone from Jannah. They placed it carefully. Over time it turned black, and it is known today as al-Hajar al-Aswad, the Black Stone. The lesson ends with a question each child can sit with: what can you do with your family to make Allah happy?

“Hajj is the Fifth Pillar of Islam” invites learners on a sacred journey to the House of Allah. Through Mohammed Sadiq Seddon’s engaging lyrics, this nashid teaches young learners about the fifth pillar of Islam. Learners discover how Muslims from every corner of the world gather in Makkah, wearing ihram and performing tawaf around al-Kaʿbah. The nashid emphasises being at peace during hajj, not harming anyone or anything, and seeking forgiveness at ʿArafat. They understand that hajj is a once in a lifetime obligation for those who can. Perfect for madrasahs, maktabs, and homeschools.

Session 4 brings learners to the greatest day of ḥajj, the 10th of Dhul Ḥijjah, the Day of Sacrifice, unpacking the profound secrets behind its four key actions and the spiritual transformation they carry. This session challenges learners to go beyond the outward ritual and ask the deeper question: what am I truly willing to sacrifice for Allah?

In Session 4, learners will:

Explore the secrets of stoning the Jamarah, understanding the enemy within and without, and how this powerful act is a declaration of war against Shayṭān.

Reflect on the meaning of sacrifice, connecting the story of Prophet Ibrāhīm عليه السلام and his son to the personal sacrifices Allah asks of every believer today.

Understand the purpose of qurbānī, recognising that what reaches Allah is never the meat or blood, but the taqwā that drives the act.

Uncover the secrets of shaving and trimming, visualising sins falling away, the ego being stripped, and the soul being made ready to enter the House of Allah.

Discover the deeper meaning of ṭawāf al-ifāḍah, going to Allah with a heart bursting with love and emerging with a heart that is truly free.

Reflect on the saʿy, carrying forward the lessons of Hajar علیہا السلام and staying focused on the greater purpose of the journey.

Map the full ḥajj timeline, consolidating everything learnt across the sessions into a clear and connected picture of this once-in-a-lifetime act of worship.

Session 2 – A Journey Through Hajj takes learners on an immersive journey through the sacred rites of ʿumrah, from the moment of farewell to family, through the spiritual threshold of iḥrām, to the completion of ḥalq. Building on the heart-centred foundation of Session 1, this session invites learners to not merely perform ʿumrah but to live it, understanding the profound secrets and inner realities woven into every step. Rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah and guided by the example of our beloved Prophet ﷺ, learners are walked through each rite with clarity, depth, and spiritual intentionality. Through interactive station activities, personal reflection, and guided discussion, every moment from the talbiyah to the saʿy becomes an opportunity to draw closer to Allah and to understand why this journey has stirred the hearts of believers for millennia. Whether performing ʿumrah for the first time or returning with renewed purpose, this session ensures that every learner arrives at the Kaʿbah not just physically prepared, but spiritually alive.

In Session 2, learners will:

Explore the rites of ṭawāf, including the significance of the Ḥajar al-Aswad, Maqām Ibrāhīm, and the lessons drawn from the story of Prophet Ibrāhīm (as).

Drink from the blessed water of Zamzam, reflecting on hope, the fulfilment of duʿas, and the example of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.

Walk in the footsteps of Hajar (as) during the saʿy between Ṣafā and Marwah, drawing lessons of effort, submission, and trust in Allah’s mercy.
