They learn that sawm means fasting, which is when we don’t eat or drink anything during the day. The lesson teaches that we fast to make Allah happy and to show our love for Him.

Through simple, clear language, learners discover that fasting is a great act of worship and that Allah loves those who fast. The lesson nurtures gratitude by teaching young learners that fasting makes us thankful for the food and water we have every day, whilst helping us remember people around the world who don’t have enough food and water.
