In Session 2, learners will:

• Understand the secrets of iḥrām, exploring how this sacred state is a training ground for humility, equality, submission, and the remembrance of Allah.
• Internalise the talbiyah, discovering its meaning as a personal pledge of love, sincerity, and commitment, and its connection to the legacy of the Prophets.
• Explore the rites of ṭawāf, including the significance of the Ḥajar al-Aswad, Maqām Ibrāhīm, and the lessons drawn from the story of Prophet Ibrāhīm (as).
• Drink from the blessed water of Zamzam, reflecting on hope, the fulfilment of duʿas, and the example of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
• Walk in the footsteps of Hajar (as) during the saʿy between Ṣafā and Marwah, drawing lessons of effort, submission, and trust in Allah’s mercy.
• Reflect on the proclamation of truth from Mount Ṣafā, connecting the words of our beloved Prophet ﷺ to the certainty that victory belongs to Allah Alone.
• Complete the ʿumrah with ḥalq, understanding the spiritual reward and the profound submission embedded in this final act.

The lesson opens by establishing what ʿumrah is: a journey to the House of Allah performed outside the days of hajj, and a great sunnah of our beloved Prophet ﷺ, who performed ʿumrah four times after hijrah. Learners discover its tremendous virtue through a Hadith from Bukhari, learning that performing one ʿumrah after another wipes away the sins committed in between. They are also introduced to the extraordinary reward of performing ʿumrah in the month of Ramadan, which our beloved Prophet ﷺ described as being equivalent to performing hajj alongside him.

The four steps of ʿumrah, ihram, tawaf, saʿy, and cutting the hair, are explained clearly and accessibly, with warm reminders to take one’s time and fill every moment with dhikr and duʿa. They also explore the immense rewards of tawaf, where every single step earns a good deed, erases a bad deed, and raises one’s rank in Jannah. Throughout, the lesson nurtures in learners a deep desire to stand before Allah at His House with sincerity and a pure heart.
