The Quranic Tarbiyah curriculum is a structured, multi-year Islamic education program designed to guide learners through key aspects of Islamic knowledge. It currently includes the following subject areas: Iman & Tazkiyah, Qur’an & Tafsir, Fiqh, Adab & Akhlaq, and Sirah. The curriculum is flexible, allowing it to be adapted for various educational settings, including formal classrooms, homeschooling, and supplementary education programs. Our goal is to nurture a Qur’anic generation who are guided by revelation, grounded in reality, and carry forward the legacy of the Prophets. Learn more about the Quranic Tarbiyah Curriculum.
Each book in the Quranic Tarbiyah curriculum typically contains 25 lessons. The lessons are designed to be engaging and thorough, ensuring that students gain a solid understanding of each subject.
A typical lesson in the Quranic Tarbiyah curriculum is designed to take around 45 minutes to 1 hour to deliver. However, the duration may vary depending on the depth of discussion, student engagement, and the teaching style. Educators are encouraged to adjust the lesson timing based on their learners’ needs and comprehension levels.
We chose to begin with Maliki fiqh because this curriculum was originally developed for the Maktab Matters project in Sierra Leone, where the Maliki school of thought is predominant. Learn about the Maktab Matters project here.
Yes, we plan to expand the curriculum to cover other major schools of thought (Hanafi, Shafi’i, Hanbali) in the future inshaAllah.
While we recommend following the complete curriculum for a holistic understanding of the subjects, you are free to purchase and use individual books based on your specific needs. In the early stages, most books function as standalone resources, allowing educators to focus on specific topics or tailor the learning experience to their learners’ needs. However, since the curriculum follows a spiral structure, additional input from educators may be required in the later stages if the books/lessons are being used as standalone resources.
If your interest is specifically in teaching lessons about the Beautiful Names of Allah, you can select the relevant lessons dedicated to this topic.
