Institute FAQs
Questions from institutes
Curriculum and fit
Which ages and levels does it cover?
The curriculum covers six levels, from Level 1 (ages 5+) to Level 6 (ages 10+). Please note that the recommended age is a guide rather than a strict requirement as children’s abilities and levels of development vary. We recommend that teachers review the contents of each book and assess whether the activities are appropriate for their students’ abilities and learning needs before introducing them in the classroom.
How many lessons are in each book?
Each book typically contains 25 lessons with some additional content such as Nashids, Learning for a Life With Allah and Heroes sections.
Can we start with one subject?
Each book series is designed to be flexible. Institutes can either use the whole curriculum or select specific series based on the available resources and time slots in their weekly schedules.
How is a lesson structured?
Most books follow a similar structure. In Levels 2 to 6 of Qur’an & Tadabbur, Iman & Tazkiyah, Fiqh & ʿUbudiyyah and Adab & Akhlaq, each lesson has Learning Objectives, Key Words, a Thinking Starter, sections with tasks, I Act On What I Learn and a Progress Check. See inside a lesson.
Why do Level 1 and Sirah & Stories lessons look different?
They are built around a story and meant to be more accessible for younger learners. These books contain a lesson spread folowed by three activities and a progress check. In Sirah & Stories, learning objectives and key words are given to the teacher at the start of the book.
Which madhab does Fiqh follow?
Fiqh & ʿUbudiyyah books are made for all four madhabs: Hanafi, Maliki, Shafiʿi and Hanbali.
Which titles are available now?
See the Curriculum Overview for every level and area.
Are teachers’ guides available?
The books contain 25 lessons with learning objectives and key words mentioned for the teachers. The lessons follow a similar structure so teachers do not require additional support and guidance to conduct lessons effectively.
