Description

This profound session invites adult learners to reflect on the centrality of the Quran in their lives, explore the impact of belief in the hereafter, and contemplate Allah’s magnificent signs throughout creation.

Session 1: Truth & Denial

  • Opens with the powerful dua for opening of the heart, asking Allah to make the Quran the spring of the heart, the light of the chest, the banisher of grief, and the reliever of anxiety
  • Explores why Makkan surahs focus on Allah’s Oneness, Prophethood, and Resurrection, understanding that the Companions were ready to do anything for Allah’s sake because their hearts were already filled with love for Him and iman
  • Discovers why our beloved Prophet ﷺ would recite Surah Qaf in large gatherings including Jumuah salah, Friday sermons, the two Eid salahs, and Fajr salah, with Umm Hisham bint Harithah memorising it purely from hearing it in the khutbah
  • Reflects on the glorious Quran through the opening oath by the letter Qaf, contemplating its lofty, majestic status and completing the sentence “The Quran is…”
  • Examines the profound question “Do they not reflect on the Quran? Or are there locks upon their hearts?” alongside Ibn Taymiyyah’s wisdom that nothing nourishes the mind and soul, protects the body, and guarantees success more than constantly engaging with the Book of Allah
  • Plans seven practical ways to improve relationship with the Quran this Ramadan including learning proper recitation, establishing a fixed daily wird, memorising portions, understanding meanings, reflecting deeply, increasing iman, and acting upon its guidance
  • Explores the denial of the Messenger, questioning how people might have reacted if Allah had sent an angel instead of a human messenger, understanding the Quraysh’s astonishment at receiving a warner from among themselves
  • Examines the denial of resurrection, understanding that the remainder of the surah responds to the Quraysh’s disbelief that humans could be brought back to life after perishing and decomposing
  • Reflects on Allah’s absolute knowledge through understanding that everything is recorded in al-Lawh al-Mahfuz with not one thing missed, contemplating how this verse makes one feel
  • Discovers the consequence of rejecting truth leads to confusion (marij), imagining the disorientation of waking on a plane with no idea how one got there, who brought them, or where they’re headed
  • Reflects deeply on how belief in the hereafter impacts daily life, identifying which aspect of life needs more akhirah focus and writing one concrete action to take this week
  • Contemplates Allah’s signs in the flawless sky, understanding how it reflects Allah’s power and beauty whilst being built, adorned, and flawless in structure, connecting the physical to the spiritual as our beloved Prophet ﷺ would frequently look at the sky and glorify Allah
  • Reflects on the earth with firm mountains and pleasant plants, understanding that just as mountains make the earth firm and stable, revelation’s purpose is to make our hearts firm and stable too
  • Discovers who the chosen people are who will benefit from these signs, understanding they are the servants who constantly return to Allah (munib), and that any knowledge not leading to knowing Allah is incomplete, false, or useless
  • Explores the similarities between water from the sky and revelation from the sky, writing five things in nature, home, or body that depend on water to survive
  • Reflects on palm trees’ remarkable qualities including surviving extreme heat, having long life and durability, and producing abundant fruit with variety of flavours, colours, and textures
  • Understands the parable of giving life to dead land as proof of resurrection, recognising that the One who causes dead earth to come back to life can certainly bring humans back to life
  • Takes a glance at history through eight civilisations (four in Arabia and four outside) who rejected their messengers, understanding that water can be both blessing and punishment, and that no matter how advanced a civilisation becomes, it is not immune to Allah’s punishment
  • Completes the session with reflection, action planning, and homework including planning a nature walk with family to observe Allah’s magnificent creation

Perfect for adult learners in Islamic study circles, community programmes, and Ramadan preparations, this presentation nurtures hearts through authentic Quranic tarbiyah rooted in the values of certainty, servitude, and love.
